Hair Dryer and Snow Flakes

We are at the moment in the middle of our summer programme of Multi-Sensory Magic Residencies.  This year we are basing the work round the Michael Rosen story Going on a Bear Hunt.

One of the environments we create involves snow and Jill Goodwin introduced us to a great idea for gentle snow fall.  You tear up tissue paper into snow flake sized pieces and scatter them above a hair drier pointing towards the ceiling.  The tissue is therefore blown into the air and when you turn the hair drier off the pieces float down in a remarkable similar way to snow flakes.   Lovely.
